Cybula Ltd was founded in 2000 by Professor Jim Austin.
The company was formed specifically to develop commercial
applications for research in high performance pattern matching
undertaken at the University of York. Cybula Ltd works in close
partnership with the Advanced Computer Architecture Group in the
Department of Computer Science at the University.
The company is housed in the IT centre in York, a specially built
data enabled accommodation close to the University.
The company draws on over 40 developers, and researchers for its
projects within the development group and the research group at the
University.
Professor Austin, CEO, is an internationally acknowledged expert in
neural networks having worked in this area for over 20 years. He
has published over 150 papers, books and reports, as well as teaching
neural networks to both Academics and Industrialists for over 15
years. In addition to his academic achievements, Professor Austin has
extensive commercial experience working with companies like BAE
Systems, GSK and Rolls-Royce.
The company is managed by Jim Austin (CEO), Sujeewa Alwis and Julian Young.
